Introduction
The Groundwork is a community built on brotherhood, healing, and strength. These standards are the foundation that keeps this space safe enough for men to be real with each other. They are not rules designed to restrict you — they are the agreement every member makes when they join.
If you are here, you have agreed to this.
What We Expect From Every Member
- —Show up as yourself. This community has no room for performance or posturing — bring who you actually are.
- —Treat every brother with respect, even in disagreement. You will not agree with everyone. That is fine. Disagree with the idea, not the man.
- —Honor the confidentiality of this space. What is shared in The Groundwork — especially in crisis rooms and DMs — stays in The Groundwork. No screenshots. No sharing outside.
- —Support brothers who are struggling. If someone in a crisis room or a space is clearly hurting, meet them with patience, not judgment. You do not need to fix anyone — just show up.
- —Use your real or consistent identity. Impersonating other members or public figures is not permitted.
- —Report what you see. If something violates these standards, report it. The moderation team takes every report seriously.
What We Will Not Tolerate
The following will result in removal — temporary or permanent depending on severity:
- —Hate speech, racism, homophobia, sexism, xenophobia, or any discrimination based on identity.
- —Harassment, threats, intimidation, or targeted abuse directed at any member.
- —Sharing another member's private information without their consent (doxxing).
- —Sexual content, solicitation, or any inappropriate contact with other members.
- —Content that encourages, glorifies, or provides instruction for self-harm or suicide.
- —Spam, unsolicited commercial promotion, or repeated off-topic posting.
- —Impersonating another member, a moderator, or a member of The Groundwork team.
- —Creating duplicate accounts to evade a ban or restriction.
In Crisis Rooms Specifically
- —What is shared in a crisis room stays in a crisis room. No exceptions.
- —No screenshots. No sharing outside the room. Ever.
- —Do not offer medical diagnoses or clinical advice. You are a brother, not a doctor.
- —Do not tell someone what they are feeling is wrong or invalid.
- —Always — without exception — direct brothers in immediate danger to call 911 or text 988.
- —Moderators have final authority in crisis spaces. If a moderator makes a decision, respect it.
Enforcement
Reports are reviewed by our moderation team, typically within 24 hours. Consequences range from a formal warning to permanent account removal, depending on severity and history.
Moderation decisions are not announced publicly. If you believe a decision was made in error, appeal by contacting support@groundworktogether.com.
We take the safety of this community seriously. We will act.
